My thoughts on Patrick Berton

I stopped at the Patick Berton fundraiser to support Patrick and his family and to hope that all of the efforts of the community will help in a cure for Patick and others who have this disease. I have known Patrick most of his life as he would be around football with his grandfather(Coach T) first as a tag along and then as one of his Trinity East Players. I had the opportunity to teach Patrick in seventh grade Social Studies two years ago and he was the model student a joy to teach every day. As I approached Patrick today, to wish him the best, I asked him how he was doing and he told not very well, I told him to keep fighting. Pat's honesty is what I love about young people, for the most part they always tell the truth and in today's world that is refreshing. The support of the community at this event was heart warming and show's how good people really can be when they think clearly.(unlike what happened with the Trinity East Football Program this season)
To Patrick and his family keep fighting, I am sure it is a struggle, God has a plan and he truly never gives anyone anything they can't handle. For me it is hard to imagine a more deserving young man of a miracle, for this I will keep Patrick in my prayers.
